Moultrie County History Center to Host Holocaust Art Exhibition

•April 19, 2023• “The Auschwitz Experience in the Art of Prisoners” art exhibit will be on display at the Moultrie County History Center in Sullivan from May 2 through 29. Lake Land College Mystery Activity Concludes; Resolutions Revealed

•April 19, 2023• Lake Land College hosted a mystery event in which more than 534 high school students from 22 schools as well as more than 250 Lake Land College students and even a few community members participated. The event consisted of a two-week mystery project to solve, including activities in which participants sought out sources of information by utilizing their own resources and inquiring among a predetermined group of people to draw conclusions based on evidence. 25 Years Ago This Week Derek Elder of Sullivan became the first Eagle Scout in Illinois elected governor during the Eagle Scout Citizenship Day program in Springfield. Elder, a member of Sullivan Troop 39, was one of three Eagle Scouts chosen to represent the Lincoln Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America at the annual event. As a result of his election as governor, he followed Gov. Jim Edgar through his daily routine. County Board Hears Information on Wind-Solar Ordinance

•April 19, 2023• by Crystal Reed The Moultrie County Board had their regular meeting Thursday, April 13. At the beginning of the meeting Jessie McClusky of the University of Illinois Extension presented to the board by highlighting some of the things the organization offers. There are six Moultrie County Master Gardeners. In the SNAP-Ed category they help families gain knowledge and skills needed to make healthier choices through in-person classes and online resources. SNAP-Ed also works with organizations and community groups to promote healthier food options and environments in communities struggling with limited resources. SES Preschool carnival a hit

On Thursday, May 15th SES and PTO sponsored a Preschool Carnival that included lunch, face painting, bounce houses, snow cone truck, playground activities, and games set up by sponsoring attendees. Pictured is Jasper Rhodes, age 5, who actively enjoyed everything on offer, including chasing bubbles.
