SHS Track Starts Season Strong

•March 6, 2024• The SHS Boys Track Team started the season off with a strong showing at the EIU Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The boys finished in 13th place out of 59 teams, with much of the competition being Class 2A and 3A schools. 2014 The vendor that IDNR chose in 2010 to renovate and ultimately reopen Eagle Creek Resort issued the state agency a notice of termination effective later that week. BMDD Resort, the vendor who was awarded the bid to renovate the resort walked away from the project after what they cited as a frustrating relationship with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.  Two teams from Moultrie County, The Beacon Blizzards and the Bug Squashers raised money for the Special Olympics by taking the Polar Plunge into Lake Decatur. Writing Team from Sullivan Ties for First Place in Contest

•March 6, 2024• North Dean, a Sullivan High School sophomore, recently received word that the entry they submitted to the 2023 Rachel Carson Intergenerational Sense of the Wonder/Sense of the Wild Contest tied for first place in the “Essay with a Photograph” division. SBL to Host Free Kidney Screenings

•March 6, 2024• The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois is teaming up with Sarah Bush Lincoln to provide a free kidney and health screening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 15, for all community members. The screening will be held in the Rush and Salk Rooms of the SBL Lumpkin Education Center, 1000 Health Center Drive En-trance C. Genealogy Circle to Begin at the Moultrie County History Center

•March 6, 2024• The organizational meeting of the “Genealogy Circle” will be on Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 pm at the Moultrie History Center at 1303 S. Hamilton, Sullivan. The group will serve both beginning and experienced genealogists, as well as everyone in between. Circle members will have a chance to explore genealogy further, share ideas, solve problems, and assist others.
