Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany. Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at McMullin-Funeral Home, Bethany, with Pastor Doug Fultz and Pastor Vanessa Patient officiating. LLC Board of Trustees Seat Open

•February 21, 2024• The Lake Land College Board of Trustees is accepting letters of interest to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Mike Sullivan, Mattoon, at the regular February 12 meeting. Sullivan was initially elected to the board in 1987. He has served numerous consecutive terms since that time, serving longer than any other trustee in the college’s history. Chronic health conditions include diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, COPD and hypertension. Diabetes is one that is on the rise, with 38 million Americans diagnosed as diabetic and 97.6 million Americans age 18 and older diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Diabetes can cause serious health complications including heart disease, blindness, kidney failure, and lower-extremity amputations. Maroa-Forsyth Ends Lady Redskins’ Season with Regional Championship Loss

BASO Car Show a success

The Bethany Advocates and Support Organization hosted its annual car show on August 22 at Crowder Park. The perfect afternoon weather bought out 52 entries and many enthusiastic onlookers. Greg Fitzgerald’s 1966 Pontiac GTO took home Best off Show honors.
