Findlay Lighted Christmas Parade

•November 29, 2023• There will be a lighted Christmas parade in Findlay on Sunday, December 3 at 5 pm. Anyone who would like to be in the parade should line up at Okaw Valley Middle School between 4:15 and 4:30 pm that day. The parade will start at the middle school, go east on Division Street, turn right on South Main Street and then left on South 2nd Street, ending at the fire station. Benning is a senior at Okaw Valley High School in Bethany and last semester this past April he was thinking about what he could do for the community and our area about his interest in space. Operation Rising Spirit Encourages Letters of Support to Illinois Veterans During the Holiday Season

•November 29, 2023• The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) today launched the 2023 “Operation Rising Spirit,” campaign encouraging service organizations, schools, communities, and individuals to write letters of appreciation and support to veterans residing at the state veterans’ homes in Anna, Chicago, LaSalle, Manteno, and Quincy. “Last year, over 5,000 letters were distributed to veterans in our care which provided an abundance of holiday cheer into the homes,” said Director Terry Prince. “We encourage volunteer groups, families, and schools to participate in this kind gesture of gratitude to Illinois veterans.” … Read More

$25 Million Available in B2B Grants for New Businesses

Deck the Halls with Fire Safety in Mind

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) more than two of every five home decoration fires occur due to decorations being placed too close to a heat source.
