Bethany High School Alumni Banquet Held

•October 4, 2023• by Crystal Reed Bethany High School Alumni gathered on Saturday, September 30, for the 92nd Alumni Banquet at Okaw Valley High School. Six classes were recognized, classes of 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1993 and 1998. Prior to the dinner there was a social hour in the gymnasium and interested alumni could also take a tour of the high school. Dinner music was provided by David Hagerman, class of 1984. Redskins XC Continue Season

•October 4, 2023• by E. Scott England The Sullivan Redskins XC teams ran in Taylorville and Mattoon last week. The first meet of the week took place at the Christian County Fairgrounds against four other teams. Sophomore Johnathan Iacobazzi finished fifth overall with a time of 17:17.32. Seniors Easton England and Davis Diepholz both finished in the top 20 at 16th and 19th, respectively. The Lady Redskins only had three runners compete at the race. Dear Editor, Standardized testing is a very debatable topic in the United States. For many years, there has been talk about eliminating standardized testing from schools because they don’t improve education in America. However, there are many pros and cons to that argument. The Moultrie-Douglas County Fair Pageant will be held Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. for Little Miss Fair Queen and 7:00 p.m. for Miss and Junior Miss Fair Queen located at the south track on the Mo-Do Fairgrounds. Vying for the title of Miss Moultrie Douglas Fair Queen are: Abigail Meyer of Tuscola, Addee Mulligan of Arcola, Sarah Rogers of Atwood, Ava Whitson of Tuscola, Addisyn Wilson of Villa Grove, Emma Spillman of Tuscola, Aymara Leal of Arcola and Katilyn Kirby of Sullivan.
