Sullivan Women’s Civic Club Chili Supper

•September 27, 2023• The Sullivan Women’s Civic Club will hold its annual Chili Supper on Friday, October 6 from 4:30 to 7:00 pm at the Sullivan American Legion. Proceeds from the chili supper go to Sullivan High School scholarships. The Civic Club was formed in 1976 by Maxine Davis and Mary Lou Kidwell. The first chili supper was held at the Masonic Temple. With the kitchen being limited, the ladies borrowed trays and pans from Sullivan School cooks, Maxine Barrett and Phyllis Hughes. Biscuit and Gravy Breakfast Benefit

Anthony and his children tragically lost his wife/mother of his children in September. Anthony is an Illinois State Police Officer and will have many challenging days ahead. •September 27, 2023• In the Wednesday, September 20 Moultrie County Board article it was incorrectly reported that the special use permit request for a manufactured home by Janie Tippit and Josh Rhodes, 595 CR 1500N, Bethany was denied. Scholarship Fundraising Cookout

All profits from the cookout go towards funding the scholarship given to a graduating senior working at Sullivan Kirby Foods. A-O’s plan was diffused by Sullivan-Okaw Valley on Bethany’s homecoming, extending their record to 4-0. Both teams came out with strong defensive stands, forcing each other to punt after a three and out. The Moultrie-Douglas County Fair Pageant will be held Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. for Little Miss Fair Queen and 7:00 p.m. for Miss and Junior Miss Fair Queen located at the south track on the Mo-Do Fairgrounds. Vying for the title of Miss Moultrie Douglas Fair Queen are: Abigail Meyer of Tuscola, Addee Mulligan of Arcola, Sarah Rogers of Atwood, Ava Whitson of Tuscola, Addisyn Wilson of Villa Grove, Emma Spillman of Tuscola, Aymara Leal of Arcola and Katilyn Kirby of Sullivan.
