“Let’s Learn about Bees” is set for Saturday, July 8 at the Illinois Amish Heritage Center

•June 21, 2023• The Illinois Amish Heritage Center in partnership with the University of Illinois Extension presents “Let’s Learn about Bees” to be held on Saturday, July 8. The hours for the event are from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. This event is part of a new “enhanced Saturday” program that will be held periodically throughout the summer. The purpose of the event is to educate on the importance of bees in our food system and show how you can create a bee friendly habitat. Moultrie Co. Board Approves Moultrie County Comprehensive Plan

•June 21, 2023• by Crystal Reed The Moultrie County Board approved the 2023 Moultrie County Comprehensive Plan and the Moultrie County Hazard Mitigation Plan during their monthly meeting. County Board member Aaron Wilhelm requested that if there are those on the board who have not read it, to do so since there is informative and helpful information in it. 25 Years Ago This Week Moultrie County’s annual Relay for Life exceeded it’s goal for the second year by raising $32,126.98 for the Moultrie County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Pope’s Pavement Pounders with co-captains Tom and Sue Pope collected $1,702 to win the top team fundraising trophy. In all 27 teams participated in the 12 hour walk. They will have a 50th Anniversary Open House 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, June 28 at 12 W. Harrison in Sullivan. Moultrie County Counseling was founded June 28, 1973 as a non-profit corporation that provides mental health services to clients. Their professionals offer direct treatment, consultation, education and referral service to Moultrie County residents, organizations and agencies.
