25 Years Ago This Week Another strong showing by the Lady Redskin relay teams propelled them to a top five finish at the Monticello Invitational. Sullivan and Fisher tied for fourth place in the 18 team event, with 44 points each, Tolono Unity captured first with 70 points, Village Grove was second with 56 points and host Monticello claimed third with 54 points. Illini Prairie CEO Trade Show Features Student Businesses

•May 3, 2023• by Crystal Reed The Illini Prairie CEO class which includes students from the Arcola, Arthur, Sullivan and Tuscola communities held their trade show at Yoder’s Kitchen Tuesday, April 25. There were 10 student businesses showcased at the event including a tea business, keychain business, photography business and custom card business. One of the students participating was Jalexis Barrett, a senior at Sullivan High School. After graduation, she plans to attend Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and study criminology. Quarter Auction

•May 3, 2023• Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness will hold their March Quarter Auction on Wednesday, May 10. The event will be held at the Sullivan American Legion. The charity of the month is the American Legion Auxiliary. Founded in 1919, they are made up of spouses, mothers, daughters, and granddaughters of veterans. They are dedicated to serving veterans, military and their families. The Sullivan unit provides gifts for local nursing home veterans for various holidays throughout the year. Upcoming Blood Drives

Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
