•April 19, 2023• Per City Ordinance 40-4-37 Section (B), while there is no permit required for a temporary sign, there is a time limit on how long they maybe displayed. Keep this in mind when displaying your signs in public areas such as the boulevard in front of Hardee’s and by Kirby Foods. In addition, no signs are to be posted on public utility poles for any reason without permission from the City. The Ordinance can be viewed on the City Website or at the Planning & Zoning Office located in the Courthouse Suite #1. … Read More

Sullivan High School Girls Track Finishes 2nd at Quad Meet

McClure Takes Part in New Defensive Training with DCFS Employees

•April 12, 2023• On April 1 Caitlin Mellendorf provided a packed room with techniques for dehydrating, freezing and fermenting foods for safe storage. “Drying or dehydrating food involves removing its water content to a point where the food is preserved for a longer time than if left fresh. Dehydrated foods can be done by drying in an oven at 140 degree F. Higher than that they will cook. Dried fruits should reach 20% moisture and be pliable, but not sticky. Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
