Quarter Madness rescheduled

•February 12, 2025• The Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary is hosting their annual Wine Expo/Vendor Fair fundraiser on Sunday Feb. 16th from 1-4 at the Sullivan Legion. There will be four wineries in attendance offering wine tasting and a variety of vendors. In addition, there will be some very talented artisans offering their works as well as boutiques, direct sales and cookies. Food will be available for purchase provided by the American Legion. Scott J. Long, 66, of Sullivan, IL, died February 8, 2025, in his home.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. A visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Moultrie County Paws.Scott was born on June 4, 1958, in Decatur, IL, the son of Paul J. and Mabel (Foreman) Long. Lady Redskins continue regular season dominance

•February 5, 2025• by E. Scott England Coming off the high of winning the LPC conference championship, the Lady Redskins wasted no time resuming their regular season dominance. And the play started with a rematch against the Cumberland Pirates. Cumberland gave Sullivan a run for their money in the conference championship. But Sullivan struggled rebounding and making anything beyond the perimeter. As a team, they agreed they couldn’t let that happen again. So they didn’t. S, no OV in the future; Sullivan nixes 20+ year co-op

Scott England Over twenty years ago, Sullivan and, then, just Bethany, formed a co-op to give access to sports for students who would not normally be granted such an opportunity. For Bethany, this meant that those desiring to play football would indeed have the opportunity. For the longest time, the co-op was just called Sullivan/Bethany, but colloquially was known just as the Sullivan Redskins. Eventually, in 2001 Bethany and Findlay merged to become Okaw Valley. Over time, the co-op decided to adopt the acronym SOV for the Sullivan/Okaw Valley teams. … Read More

SES Preschool carnival a hit

On Thursday, May 15th SES and PTO sponsored a Preschool Carnival that included lunch, face painting, bounce houses, snow cone truck, playground activities, and games set up by sponsoring attendees.
