History Center Grand Opening

•March 15, 2023• The 2nd Annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be held on Saturday, April 1 from 11 am to 1 pm at Courtyard Estates of Sullivan, 20 Courtyard Blvd. in Sullivan. •March 15, 2023• The Angler’s Tribute to Veterans Crappie Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 8 at Lake Shelbyville. Entry fee is $80, $20 big fish. Take-off at Whitley Ramp and weigh-in at Findlay Ramp. Early registration on Friday, April 7 starting at 5 pm at the Sullivan VFW. Illinois Earns Credit Upgrade

•March 8, 2023• By Peter Hancock Capitol News Illinois S&P Global Ratings announced Thursday that it had raised Illinois’ long-term credit rating to A-, up from BBB+, marking the seventh upgrade the state has received from a major rating agency in less than two years. Sullivan Blue Dolphins Kick Off Four Week Run of Championship Meets

•March 8, 2023• Submitted by Kim Drury Sullivan Blue Dolphins kicked off a four week run of Championship meets the weekend of February 24th at the Regional Championship meet in Springfield. Fourteen swimmers started off the Championship season competing in 68 individual events at the Regional meet. Top 8 in each event make it to the podium. The Blue Dolphins went to the podium 51 times and of those 51 times 25 were with top 1-3 finishes. Greenhill Cemetery Cleanup

•March 8, 2023• The City of Sullivan will begin its quarterly cleanup of the Greenhill Cemetery on Monday, March 20. Residents with surface flowers, wreaths, grave blankets or any other ground surface decorations should remove them by Sunday, March 18, 2023 if they wish to keep them. The cemetery personnel will not pick up any flowers in vases or on the monuments unless deteriorated. The cemetery does not have a facility to store unclaimed decorations, so if you wish to keep your items, please pick them up by this date. Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
