Corwin “Cob” Hill, Jr. Corwin “Cob” Hill, Jr., 94, of Lovington, passed away 6:15 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, at the Arthur Home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Hammond Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lovington Ambulance Service. McMullin-Young Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements. Cob was born August 21, 1928, in Linter; the son of Corwin Lee Hill, Sr. and Virginia (Traxler) Hill. Coles County Barbershop Chorus Concerts

•November 23, 2022• For the 30th year, the Coles County Barbershop Chorus (CCC) will present two concerts on Sunday, December 4th. The first performance will start at 3 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2206 4th Street in Charleston and the second concert starts at 7 pm at the United Christian Church, 200 E Lafayette in Mattoon. Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
