Corwin “Cob” Hill, Jr. Corwin “Cob” Hill, Jr., 94, of Lovington, passed away 6:15 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, at the Arthur Home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Hammond Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lovington Ambulance Service. McMullin-Young Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements. Cob was born August 21, 1928, in Linter; the son of Corwin Lee Hill, Sr. and Virginia (Traxler) Hill. Coles County Barbershop Chorus Concerts

•November 23, 2022• For the 30th year, the Coles County Barbershop Chorus (CCC) will present two concerts on Sunday, December 4th. The first performance will start at 3 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2206 4th Street in Charleston and the second concert starts at 7 pm at the United Christian Church, 200 E Lafayette in Mattoon. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
