•October 26, 2022• The late Natalie Mauck McDowell was honored Friday, October 7th, as the Millikin University School of Nursing Distinguished Alumna of the Year. In presenting the award, Dr. Jamie Nickell, Dean of the Millikin University School of Nursing, stated “Criteria for this award includes that the nominee should have made a significant contribution to her community and have demonstrated integrity in her personal life and gained the respect of those surrounding her. Safe2Help Illinois is a free, information sharing platform that is available 24/7. •October 26, 2022• The Moultrie County Retired Teachers Association met October 5, 2022, at the Moultrie County Historical and Genealogical Society’s newly remodeled building south of Sullivan. President Jane McKown welcomed members and guests. Incoming President, Vicki Newberry, led the Pledge of Allegiance. Vicki thanked the Lovington teachers for being the hostesses for this meeting. Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
