•September 21, 2022• Matthew D. Phelps, 35, of Kirksville has been sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections. At a hearing on September 6, 2022, Judge Jeremy Richey accepted an agreement whereby Phelps pled guilty to Domestic Battery (Enhanced Sentence), a Class 4 Felony, in Moultrie County case 2022-CF-55 as well as Domestic Battery (Enhanced Sentence), a Class 4 Felony, in Moultrie County case 2022-CF-53. •September 21, 2022• The Illinois State Fair has released estimated attendance totals for 2022. Over 636,700 visitors walked through the gates this year making it the highest attended fair since industry attendance calculation were put into effect, beating previous records also set under the Pritzker administration. Weekend attendance during the fair saw an increase of nearly 95,000 people over 2021. The high attendance numbers are also reflected by the over $6.4 million in estimated revenue.
