•January 1, 2025• January The Moultrie County Childcare Committee announced the awarding of a substantial grant totaling $21,600 to Sullivan Preschool in acknowledgment of its exemplary commitment to providing exceptional childcare services in Moultrie County. This grant reflects the committee’s dedication to supporting and enhancing early childhood education within our community. Sullivan City Council annex property, Changes meeting dates

Wilson named to Dean’s List at UW-Whitewater

•January 1, 2025• Kennady Wilson, from Bethany, has made the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean’s List for the 2024 fall semester. Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness

•January 1, 2025• Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness will hold their January Quarter Auction on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. The event will be held at the Sullivan American Legion Post #68. Moultrie County Illinois PAWS is the charity of the month (find them on Facebook at “Moultrie County Illinois PAWs”).  Moultrie County PAWS uses funds for companion animals in need of discretionary care and treatment. More than 82,000 deer harvested during Illinois firearm deer season

•December 25, 2024• Hunters in Illinois took a preliminary total of 82,496 deer during the seven-day 2024 Illinois firearm deer season that concluded Dec. 8. Comparatively, hunters harvested 76,494 deer during the 2023 firearm season. The preliminary harvest for the second segment of the 2024 firearm season Dec. 5-8 was 27,835 compared with 22,883 deer harvested during the second part of the 2023 season. … Read More

SES Preschool carnival a hit

On Thursday, May 15th SES and PTO sponsored a Preschool Carnival that included lunch, face painting, bounce houses, snow cone truck, playground activities, and games set up by sponsoring attendees. Pictured is Jasper Rhodes, age 5, who actively enjoyed everything on offer, including chasing bubbles.
