•October 6, 2021• Operation Enduring Support is now accepting donations for Christmas care packages for our deployed military that will be mailed on December 6. Our young men and women in foreign countries do not have access to Post Exchanges and can really use the items they receive, along with a reminder that people back home have not forgotten them. Local Master Gardeners Receive State Award

•October 6, 2021• Volunteers of University of Illinois Extension’s Master Gardener program were recognized at a virtual awards ceremony on September 10. The annual awards ceremony recognizes the work of the 2,700 volunteers who provide horticulture-related assistance to their communities. Master Gardeners are trained horticulture experts who serve their communities through service projects and delivery of educational programs. She was born on October 1, 1961, in Champaign, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Karen (Baugher) Rauch of Sullivan, Illinois. Janet worked at Quad Graphics, Effingham, as a machine operator. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
