‘Troops’ is the Word of the Day

•September 8, 2021• Golf The Okaw Valley boys’ golf team continued their strong season by defeating Shelbyville and Windsor Stewardson-Strasburg in dual matches last week. The Timberwolves scored a 201-221 victory against Shelbyville Aug. 31. Miles Harlin shot a 46 to lead Okaw Valley. Tyson Montgomery and Trey Hall each shot a 48, and Rase Bennett carded a 65. •September 8, 2021• Harvest to Home returns to the Illinois Amish Heritage Center on October 8 and 9. Hours for the event are from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8 and from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9. Harvest to Home returns to expanded activities and demonstrations, including glass blowing, at the Center. The purpose of the show is to teach attendees how crops were grown and harvested during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
