Wits Wellness Research is Looking for Participants

•July 14, 2021• A research team from the University of Illinois is looking for participants for the WITS Wellness Research Study. Any person 50 years and older who has not been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia is eligible. Participants can receive up to $60 for their participation in the study. Virginia Gillenwater Virginia Swango Gillenwater, 85, of Forsyth, formerly of Mattoon and Sullivan, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Hickory Point Christian Village. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2021, at Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Grant Wade officiating.  Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan. Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
