Sullivan Show Choirs to Host Fall Revue

•October 7, 2020• By Crystal Reed NP Writer The Sullivan Show Choirs invite you to come enjoy an evening of vocal music this coming Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. or Sunday, October 11 at 2 p.m. at the Sullivan High School football field. The theme for the fall revue is ‘Decades’ with music from various decades in the past. This year’s middle school group Singers Jr has 33 performers and the high school group Singers has 38 performers. Binnion Awarded Scholarship

•October 7, 2020• Hannah N. Binnion of Sullivan was awarded a Dean’s Transfer Scholarship from Southern Illinois University Carbondale for the 2020-2021 academic year. Binnion is majoring in human nutrition and dietetics and transferred from Lake Land College. Scholarships are based on academic merit and the student’s potential for superior achievement in college. Charles Franklin Charles Linville Franklin, of Independence, MO, passed away in his home on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. He was 77. Charles entered this world on July 27, 1943 in Lovington, the sixth child of eventually ten to be born to Leland and Eunice (Doss) Franklin. After graduating from high school in Lovington, he married his sweetheart, Karen Crosby. Not long after, they together took on the responsibility and privilege of caring for Karen’s younger siblings after the passing of their mother. Charles accepted his new nieces and nephews, the youngest being 5 years old, with loving, open arms. … Read More

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
