OV Boys Cross Country Wins Bulldog Run

•September 16, 2020• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Okaw Valley boys’ cross country team won the Bulldog Run Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Bement High School. The Timberwolves combined for a team total time of 1:36:49 and 31 points.. Argenta-Oreana High School placed second with 51 points, and Sullivan had 63 points for third place. Three Timberwolves placed in the top five. Dominic Herold won the Bulldog Run with a time of 18:14. City Council Hears Sullivan PD Plans To Have K-9 Unit

•September 16, 2020• By Crystal Reed NP Writer The City Council heard from Officer Tom LeHew during Monday nights meeting about plans by Sullivan Police Department to obtain a K-9 unit. He said that the unit would be self sustaining and the department is looking at fundraisers and grants to raise money for the unit. So far $7,000 has been raised for the unit. Sullivan Boys Cross Country Places Third

•September 16, 2020• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Sullivan boys’ cross country team competed in the Shelbyville Trails Invitational and the Bement High School Bulldog this past week. Saturday, Sept. 12, for the boys’ teams, Sullivan placed sixth-out-of-six teams with a score of 158 in the Shelbyville Trails Invitational. 25 Years Ago This Week Sullivan firefighters were called to the Moultrie Grain Association’s Chipps Elevator in Sullivan. Some chaff had ignited in a drier. Marijuana traffickers led police on a wild chase ultimately eluding capture in a manhunt but leaving behind their four-wheel drive vehicle and more than $100,000 in pot.
