Dove’s Domestic Violence Education and Volunteer Training

•July 31, 2019• Training is available for individuals interested in educating themselves on the issues surrounding domestic violence. The training will take place October 28 – November 13, Monday through Thursday evenings, from 5-9 p.m. in Decatur at Dove, 302 S. Union, Dean Simcox Conference Room. This 44-hour training is approved by ICADV, Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence. This training is being facilitated by two Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professionals, one of whom is also an Illinois Certified Partner Abuse Intervention Professional. Moultrie Co. Awarded Federal Funds Under the Emergency Food And Shelter National Program

•July 24, 2019• Moultrie County has been chosen to receive $2,800 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. The selection was made by a National Board that is chaired by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and consists of representatives from American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; The Jewish Federations of North America; The Salvation Army; and United Way Worldwide. Teamwork is Key to Blue Dolphin Food Drive’s Success

•July 24, 2019• By Trout Flipper for the News Progress It takes teamwork to win and Sullivan Blue Dolphins coach Jason Drury extends that philosophy from competing in the pool to helping the community. That is what led to the collection of a record breaking 3,612 cans of food for their annual donation to the Moultrie County Food Pantry and other area food banks. •July 24, 2019• Over two weeks in July, Señora King and the SHS AP Spanish class of 2020 held four one-week sessions teaching Spanish to elementary and middle school students from the area. The Kirby Foods meat department delivered hams to the Moultrie County Food Pantry on Wednesday the 16th, thanks to a generous anonymous donation. The hams will provide a nice Easter dinner.
