•June 10, 2020• The Moultrie County Health Department (MCHD) has confirmed the 13th case of the novel coronavirus-2019 (COVID-19) in Moultrie County. The patient is a male in his 50s and is recovering at home in isolation. Public health officials are contacting all close contacts. To date, 496 Moultrie County residents have been tested for COVID-19. Of those tests, 13 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19. As public organizations and businesses reopen, it is important that everyone continues to use precautions to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19 infection. Private family services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan with Fred Leeds officiating. Visitation will be from 1 – 2 p.m. Wednesday. Brynna Sentel Named 2020 HCAC Female Athlete of the Year

•June 10, 2020• Franklin College junior swimmer Brynna Sentel has been named the 2020 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s (HCAC) Female Athlete of the Year, announced by the league on Monday (Jun. 8) afternoon. The Sullivan native becomes the second Franklin female athlete to earn the league’s top individual honor, joining 2015 winner Anna Murdock. •June 10, 2020• Starting July 1, 2020, the EMERGENCY number for Sullivan Fire & Ambulance, Bethany Fire & Ambulance, Lovington Fire & Ambulance, and Dora Fire Protection District is 911 for dispatching EMERGENCY calls. If you dial the normal seven digit EMERGENCY number for your responding agency for Fire or Ambulance, Coles County 911 will answer, take your information, and dispatch the appropriate agency. These grants will equip minority-owned firms with resources to create jobs, build capacity, increase revenues, and revitalize properties in underserved communities.
