A 70 Year Honor for Harry Woolen who Survived Two Wars

•April 17, 2019• By Mike Brothers Harry Woolen is a veteran’s Veteran and American Legion Post #68 presented him with his 70 year membership pin on Wednesday, April 3. A good crowd joined wife Bette, family and friends at the Sullivan American Legion to celebrate the event. Post 68 Commander Bob Sims made the official presentation which included a certificate commemorating Woolen’s service. What’s a celebration without a cake, which was baked by his daughter. Sullivan Boys’ Track Fields Third in Quadrangular Meet

•April 17, 2019• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor The Sullivan boys’ track and field team placed third with 29 points in a quadrangular meet against Warrensburg-Latham, Cerro Gordo-Bement and Central A&M at Warrensburg last Tuesday. The host Cardinals won with 79 points, and CGB took second with 68 points. Several Redskins earned points. Brodie Goss won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.74 and placed second in the 110 hurdles at 17.89. OVHS Girls’ Track Team Wins Cumberland Meet

OV defeated Cumberland (86), Marshall (70), Casey (62) and Oblong (14). Several Timberwolves scored points, including three relay teams taking first place. OV Softball Team Picks Up Win over CG/Bement

Undefeated WSS Softball Team Takes Three Game Sweep

•April 17, 2019• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor The Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg softball team stayed undefeated on the season after sweeping three games to win the Ramsey Tournament Saturday. WSS defeated Ramsey, Hillsboro and Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. Against the Knights in the last game of the day, WSS plated three runs in the fourth inning which was the difference in the 3-0 pitchers’ duel.
