Bright Lights, Big City for SHS Prom

•April 3, 2019• The Sullivan junior class will host the 2019 prom Saturday, April 13. Doors will open at 6 p.m. All students must arrive by 6:50 or risk not being allowed admission. Coronation will begin promptly at 7 p.m. The public is invited. After the court dance, dinner will be served at approximately 7:30 being catered by Griffin’s Catering. The Selocks are involved with an organization called Marion Medical Mission whose mission is to provide clean water to villages in Malawi. •April 3, 2019• Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness will hold their April quarter auction Wednesday, April 10 at Sullivan American Legion. Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is the charity of the month. Money raised will be used for members to attend FCCLA State Conference and Summer Leadership Academy. ALAH FCCLA has 26 high school members. New Mayor and Board for Sullivan

•April 3, 2019• By Mike Brothers The city of Sullivan has a new mayor and board of commissioners following the Tuesday, April 2 elections. Richard Glazebrook won the mayor’s race with 521 votes followed by William Burger with 223 and incumbent mayor Ann Short with 209 votes. Abbey Sherwood is Accounts and Finance Commissioner with 507 votes over incumbent Mike Mossman with 443. Chuck Woodworth won the Health and Safety Commissioner’s seat with 484 votes to Grant Wade’s 448. Peggy Hargis led the three way race for Streets and Public Improvements with 524 votes. Edna M. The Kirby Foods meat department delivered hams to the Moultrie County Food Pantry on Wednesday the 16th, thanks to a generous anonymous donation. The hams will provide a nice Easter dinner.
