Moultrie County 4-H Members Attend 4-H Leadership Conference

•March 11, 2020• Sarina Voegel and Hannah Creek both represented Moultrie-Douglas 4-H and their Moultrie County Shining Stars 4-H Club by attending the annual Illinois 4-H Leadership Conference. This overnight event was held in Effingham on February 22-23. They were two of 100 members in 7th and 8th grade from around the state in attendance. While at the conference they attended sessions on a variety of topics. The sessions included: Tacky Tourist Trivia, which allowed members to test their knowledge of the world, 4-H, pop, culture and more in teams. Memorial services honoring her life will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at East Side Church of the Nazarene, 2129 South 9th Street in Mattoon with Pastor Cameron Davis officiating. Landmark torn down



News Progress


The home at the intersection of Route 133 and Route 32 in Lovington was torn down last week. The house had become a major hazard after a box truck struck it, taking out a large portion of the north wall. The owners had the home demolished after it was deemed a public safety issue.
