News Progress publisher Marion Best and Signal Advisor Rebecca Lawson traveled to Chicago to accept the award along with Sullivan Signal Alumni Charley LeCrone and Jodi England, who were both past editors of the high school newspaper. Pastor John Hippard Pastor John Hippard, 91, of Shelbyville passed away at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18 at First Baptist Church in Pana with the Rev. Nat Kealan and the Rev. Tim Yankee officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. A luncheon at the First Baptist Church in Shelbyville followed the burial.
