Sullivan Golf Tees off At St. Anthony Invite

25 Years Ago This Week Lake Shelbyville was full of boaters trying to cool off during the 4th of July weekend. Local law enforcement reported only a few incidents during the busy weekend. Heading this year’s 4th of July parade were Korean War veterans who served as parade marshals. Jim Dwyer James T. ‘Jim’ Dwyer, 75, of Sullivan passed away at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 in his residence. Celebration of Life Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Charliam Renner officiating. Jim was born March 7, 1943 in Quincy, the son of James T. Dwyer, Jr. and Margaret Thieman Dwyer. Jim earned his Bachelors in Education from Quincy College and his Masters of Administration from Eastern Illinois University. County Board Appoints State’s Attorney, Accepts Farm Bid, and Limits Time on Storage Containers

Townships Get Windfall •August 15, 2018• By Mike Brothers The Moultrie County Board appointed Tracy Weaver as State’s Attorney to complete Jeremy Richey’s term to 2020, accepted Clint Robinson’s bid to rent the county farm and voted to limit the time shipping and storage containers may be in one place to 14 days. County board chair Dave McCabe appointed assistant state’s attorney Weaver, noting the Republican Central Committee recommended the appointment at the December 3, 2017 meeting. Weaver previously practiced in Cole’s County and has moved to Sullivan to complete the term of office. Unanimous approval was given the appointment. … Read More

DMH Sullivan Medical Central Receives CARF Accreditation

•August 15, 2018• Decatur Memorial Hospital’s outpatient medical rehabilitation program has again attained the highest level of accreditation available by the International Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF’s three-year accreditation includes a rigorous on-site peer review process for treatment of single discipline adults, single discipline children/adolescents, multi-discipline adults, and multi-discipline children/adolescents. Findlay Blood Drive Milestone

•August 15, 2018• The Findlay American Legion Auxiliary hosted an American Red Cross blood drive, Tues. Aug. 7 in the Findlay American Legion Hall in Findlay. There were 20 people who responded to the plea, but the goal of 19 was missed. Only 17 pints were collected. George Bollinger reached a milestone of 20 gallons by giving his 160th pint of blood.
