•August 22, 2018• Sullivan hosted a round robin tournament with Teutopolis and Taylorville Saturday. Sullivan took second place. Teutopolis defeated Sullivan 4-1 and Sullivan defeated Tayorville 11-1. Teutopolis also defeated Taylorville 14-13. Joanna Ruth Cole Joanna Ruth Cole, 84, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Mason Point, Sullivan. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the First Christian Church, Sullivan. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral services at the church. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Amusement Rides at State Fair Inspected by IDOL

•August 15, 2018• The Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) will conduct routine inspections of all amusement rides and attractions at the 2018 Illinois State Fair. There are more than 65 rides to enjoy on the Carnival Midway, Adventure Village, and Happy Hollows pavilions. Sign collision at Agri-Fab

In the late afternoon of Saturday, May 31st, there was a single-vehicle accident, with the vehicle making contact with the Sullivan Agri-Fab factory signage located at the factory frontage on Hamilton Street. Per Sullivan Police Department’s Chief of Police, Andrew Pistorius, the airbag was deployed in the incident, and the driver refused medical treatment. No further information is available at this time.
