The contestants are Chastity Smith, Jamie Coon, Teresa Wilhelm, Amber Workman, Joy Gale and Kandi Morgan. This year not only gifts will be awarded to the winner; Bob and Kathy Aldridge set up a monetary scholarship to be used for a post-secondary education. Wendy Gilmore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Gilmore of Sullivan, was a 1993-94 Presidential Scholarship Award finalist during the Blackburn College Presidential Honors weekend celebration. Dear Editor: In a June 29 Herald and Review article, “All eyes turn to vacancy”, the writer opined that Roe v Wade should be overturned. She had an abortion 13 years ago but has regretted that decision. I assume she was relieved and happy at the time that she had the freedom to make her choice.
