The Timberwolves defeated Arcola and Argenta-Oreana but lost to Decatur Lutheran and Paris. Monday evening at Argenta-Oreana, OV needed an extra inning to plate the eventual winning run in an 8-inning pitcher’s duel. WSS also defeated Farina South Central 10-0 Friday and Neoga 8-2 last Wednesday. Against Nokomis, WSS scored three runs in the first inning and five in the second inning on its way to the 10-0 win. Sullivan’s head girls’ basketball coach Sheri McCain was the Class 2A District 14 Coach of the Year. In the girls’ 44th annual meet, Kenli Nettles helped Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond take the LOVC championship with 99 points, while Okaw Valley placed second with 93.6 points in the 13-team meet.
