The Timberwolves shutout Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 4-0 Monday and throttled Arcola 18-1 last Tuesday. Against the Knights Monday, OV scored first in the top of the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead, but ALAH answered when Dario Ayala homered in the bottom of the fourth. Monday night, Megan Schlechte pitched a no-hitter and hit a grand slam to help the Hatchets shutout St. Elmo/Brownstown 15-0. In the second inning, the Hatchets score 12 runs to blow the game open. Paul Powell Paul Leroy Powell, 69, of Sullivan passed away April 17, 2019 from a prolonged illness. Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25 in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Ill. McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan is in care of arrangements. Paul was born June 4, 1949 in Roswell, New Mexico and was raised in California. He was a Vietnam veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Army. The Timberwolves lost to Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Monday, Westville Saturday, Fisher Saturday and Arcola last Tuesday. In the first game of the doubleheader Saturday, OV lost to Fisher 16-1, after scoring its lone run in the first inning. Grace Bunfill was 2-for-3 and Bella Benning was 1-for-2 with a run scored.
