ALAH Softball Team Takes Sullivan in Extra Innings

•May 9, 2018• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond softball team defeated Sullivan in 11 innings Monday and St. Teresa last Wednesday but lost to Argenta-Oreana in a Little Okaw Valley showdown. Against Sullivan, the Knights fell behind 3-0 after the first three innings but tied the game with three runs in the fourth inning. Sullivan plated two runs in the fifth and ALAH plated two in the seventh inning to tie the game up at five. National Skilled Nursing Care Week Activities

•May 9, 2018• In 1967 the American Health Care Association established National Nursing Home Week to recognize the services and care provided by nursing homes throughout America. The name was recently changed to National Skilled Nursing Care Week, but it will continue the tradition of beginning on Mother’s Day each year. Nuzzo Vaults to First at the Redskin Invitational

•May 9, 2018• The Sullivan boys’ track and field team competed in the Redskin Invitational last Tuesday. The Redskins placed sixth with 44 points. Jadon Nuzzo pole vaulted 13 feet for first place, and Logan Pedigo vaulted 12 feet 6 inches for second place. OV Softball Team Sweeps Double Header Against Arcola

•May 9, 2018• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Okaw Valley softball team finished the week with a 2-1 record with a doubleheader sweep against Arcola and a loss to Casey-Westfield. Last Wednesday, OV defeated Arcola 12-2 in the first game of the doubleheader and 21-11 in the second game. In the first game, OV blew the game open with five runs in the fifth inning and five runs in the sixth inning. The team pounded out 12 hits. OV Baseball Wins OV Northwest Conference Title

•May 9, 2018• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Okaw Valley baseball team surpassed 20 wins and won the Little Okaw Valley Northwest Conference during a busy week. •May 9, 2018• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Sullivan softball team dropped four games this week, including a 12-inning marathon against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. Friday, Sullivan lost a doubleheader to Clinton. The Redskins lost the first game 13-3 and the second game 6-5. St. Jude Dash n Bash is Coming

•May 9, 2018• St. Jude’s Dash N Bash held Saturday, June 2 at Wyman Park in Sullivan will have a car show with registration from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Sullivan American Legion parking lot. Awards will be presented at 2:30 p.m. with 100 percent of the registration fees donated to St. Jude’s Hospitals. Earth Scapes along with the American Legion are event sponsors and all vehicles are welcomed. Sign collision at Agri-Fab

In the late afternoon of Saturday, May 31st, there was a single-vehicle accident, with the vehicle making contact with the Sullivan Agri-Fab factory signage located at the factory frontage on Hamilton Street. Per Sullivan Police Department’s Chief of Police, Andrew Pistorius, the airbag was deployed in the incident, and the driver refused medical treatment. No further information is available at this time.
