City employees were given a flat $750 annual raise by the Sullivan City Council. The commissioners were authorized to give the department superintendents any additional increase over the $750 if they deemed it appropriate.
Sullivan’s new elementary school was just short of completion, Sullivan School Superintendent Rich Voltz told the school board. The new school would be ready in February if it weren’t for the fact that the gym floor isn’t complete.
Sullivan Middle School Principal Nancy Schaljo accepted a donation from Ray Loy of Jerry’s IGA and Tony Kenworthy of the Central State Coca Cola Bottling Co. The supermarket and Coke donated a nickel from every 12 pack of the soft drink sold during September for worthy projects at the school.
