A livestock, machine shed, upholstery shop located northeast of Cadwell received extensive fire damage during a Friday afternoon fire. Arthur, Lovington and Sullivan fire departments responded to the building owned by Harvey Chupp. Firefighters were on the scene four hours battling the blaze during intermittent rain.
Icy roads contributed to multiple accidents in Moultrie County. Two people were treated at local hospitals following a three car accident on Hwy 121 one mile west of Route 32.
Three vehicles overturned in separate crashes. The driver of a truck left the road and overturned after striking an embankment on Bruce-Findlay Road at 3:50 p.m.
By 4:30 p.m. a van driven by a Windsor resident left Rte 32 north of Sullivan and overturned. Another driver slid through an intersection on Findlay road and overturned. No serious injuries were reported in the three single vehicle accidents.
