25 Years Ago This Week

The Sullivan school board meeting had more than 100 spectators and some 25 activists from the University of Illinois and Eastern Illinois University, flanked by community members who were mostly SHS students, who brought posters to protest the district using the term Redskins for sports.
The Sullivan City Council moved to pursue a third TIF district. The newly proposed district encompassed 25 3/4 acres and included a new 36 housing unit subdivision.     Login or Subscribe to read the rest of this story.
