Remember When? 8-12-2015
25 years ago this week
Allison Patrick of Bethany received a blue ribbon for her portrait of a ballerina, entered in the Moultrie Sullivan 4-H and Junior Fair.
Two years ago, Lovington resident Jerry Floyd finally got around to trying the one sport he had always dreamed about but never tried: skydiving. Since then he’s made 35 jumps at the Mid-America Sport Parachute Club in Taylorville, made several free falls and standup landings and is having the time of his life with his new hobby.
Increased entries in every department highlighted the Moultrie County 4-H and Junior Fair. In arts and crafts judging, first place winners included Andy Brewer, Scott Seeley, Teri Zimmer, Brandon Patrick, Erin Parsons, Allison Patrick, Tracy Phelps and Martne McCabe, all of Bethany; Joey Schaljo, Elizabeth Livingston, Keena Baumgartneer, Jamie Christy, DeEtta Beachy and Seth Shellabarger, all of Sullivan; Kama Webb of Dalton City; Wyatt Murphy, Meg Reedy, Chas Seelow, Sarah Jackson, Dane Jackson, Andy VanWinkle and Matt Jackson, all of Lovington; and Tara Traxler of Lake City.
Gaining the 4-H pony championship at the Moultrie-Sullivan fair was Mike Houser of Sullivan.
