25 years ago this week

Ribbons, stickers and safety booklets were presented to the participants in the recent bike rodeo held recently in Wyman Park. The rodeo in which Mike Muzzy, Jennie Allen, Andrew Bathe, Lisa Lilly, Missy Gillon, Johnnie Gillon and Lee Gillon participated was preceded by a safety program given to 26 children at the Sullivan Pre School.

Toby Bolsen of Lovington showed the reserve intermediate champion female during the National Junior Angus Show July 9-13 at Ark-Sar-Ben in Omaha, Neb. Named Bolsens Charlies Angel, the heifer was one of 106 bred and owned heifers shown.

Participating in the recent 4-H fashion trip, which included a tour of the Limited at Hickory Point Mall in Forsyth, were Susan Shellabarger, Carinna Elder, Sarah Shasteen and Elizabeth Livingston.

Derik Eaton won a gold medal recently in the Prairie State Games 10K race through Champaign. Eaton, a Sullivan High School graduate, earned the prize after defeating 200 other runners.     Login or Subscribe to read the rest of this story.
