Congressman Glenn Poshard visited Sullivan and appeared before a crowd of 50 at the Moultrie County Farm Service office to announce a $252,000 water quality program for Lake Shelbyville.
The Bethany School Board okayed the formation of a new computer committee to address the district’s computer system needs, capacity and purpose. During that same meeting the board approved a $2,180,000 district budget. Board member Steve Funk cast the only no vote on the budget. Funk explained that he objected to an 18 percent increase in expenses in the budget and told the board he didn’t believe that was what referendum voters had voted for in April.
