More Mysteries about Hill’s Mission

Isaac Hill was in a tight spot. His group was being attacked by armed Indians and was outnumbered 7 to 2. In his undated report (possibly 1811) to his brother Henry at Ft. Massac which he was sending “by the breed Ladoo by dark”, he said they were running out of lead shot, but had plenty of powder left. He had set a signal fire to get reinforcements from “John and Joshua from north”, who are Joshua Renfro and either John Beck or Isaac’s brother, John Hill.
