Shawnee Communications Kicks off the New Year with Donation to Lovington Library

Jamie Franklin, Customer Service Supervisor for Shawnee Communications, presented the Lovington Public Library with a much needed donation. The $1,200 donation consisted of employee contributions that were matched individually by Shawnee’s four shareholders, as well as the company. On hand to receive the donation were Letitia Clough (Assistant Librarian), Darcie Peck (Library Director) and Kathy Ruff (Library Board President).
Library staff as thrilled by the donation, stating that the donation will help them address immediate needs. “The Lovington Library is exceedingly grateful for the donation we received. It will go a long way to helping with upkeep and anything the library may need. The library is very thankful to Shawnee Communications for their support in the community”, said Peck. Franklin added, “Shawnee gets really excited about making donations like this. Thanks to continued support from our subscribers, we are able to make contributions that have an immediate impact in our community.” A similar donation was also made to Rosiclare Memorial Library, which is located in Rosiclare, Ill.
