SHS Teacher Selected As Representative
•May 5, 2021•
Sullivan High School English teacher Cami Badman has been selected as the Midwest Representative for the National English Honor Society. Badman has been sponsoring Sullivan’s NEHS chapter since 2016, and the group’s support of the arts and community service has only increased in that time. Sullivan NEHS students select books for the library to purchase, sponsor book drives and blanket drives, partner with other classes as pen pals, and host an English week competition at the high school.
As a part of the national council, Badman will work with inactive chapters across 7 states to become active again, seek the establishment of new charters, and assess student writing for various NEHS competitions. Council members are also asked to represent NEHS on a national level at various events like the conference hosted by the National Council of Teachers of English.
