Sullivan-Okaw Valley came out on top of a slugfest Friday night over conference rival Central A&M.

Ty Molzen threw for four touchdowns, and the Redskins’ defense shut out the Raiders in the second half.

Now playoff eligible at 5-4 SOV head coach Gerald Temples called the win a big step forward for the team. “I’m just happy for the kids, especially the way they battled in the second half. They got themselves playoff eligible, and that is a big step. The kids did a nice job; I am very happy with where they are.”

In a must win game for both teams the Raiders took a chance with an onside kick to start the contest. Thankfully, the Redskins recovered at midfield. Blake Stewart carried the load on the Redskins’ first drive, converting a pair of first downs on the ground. Facing third and one from the Raider one yard line, Ty Molzen connected Alec Ballinger on a slant for the game’s first score with eight minutes remaining in the first quarter.  Read More

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights put together a strong offensive effort, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Argenta Oreana Bombers’ running game Friday, October 16. The final score was 44-18 Bombers.

“I think the team has improved in their understanding of the offense, and, therefore, in the execution the last few weeks.” Knights’ coach Dale Schuring said of his improving team.

The Knights were down 22-6 during the Lovington homecoming game at Arthur in the first half.

Will Cohan started off the drive with a quarterback keeper to the 40 yard line.

Cohan then handed the ball to Marcus Vanausdoll for a six yard gain.

A pass to Teddy Poe was good for another eight yards, and the Knight offense started hitting. Read More
