Blue Dolphins Bring Home First

The Sullivan Blue Dolphins traveled to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete at the THT Summer Steam Meet. They finished out the weekend with a whopping 1386 points bringing home 1st Place overall out of six teams. Awesome swimming SBD!

Sullivan Blue Dolphins Host Cinco De Mayo Invitational Meet

The Sullivan Blue Dolphins recently hosted their annual Cinco De Mayo Invitational Meet at the Civic Center in Sullivan. They had 47 of their own swimmers on deck, and the team brought home a whopping 1741 points with a first place overall win.

Blue Dolphins Hold Team Banquet to Wrap Up Season

The Sullivan Blue Dolphins wrapped up their 2022/2023 short course season with a team banquet held at Building 1225 in Sullivan. This banquet is held each year to recognize the team members for all of their accomplishments throughout the season, and to give thanks to the coaches, board members, and other individuals such as current and former swim parents and members of the community that volunteer their time and energy to support the team.
In addition to recognizing each individual member of the team, our graduating Seniors are recognized as well as members of the team that excelled in various areas. Our senior swimmers for the 2022-2023 season were: Matthew Wesselman, Max Kersten, Ethan Schmohe, Miles Kersten, Deanna Clark, Madalyn Booker. Read More

Okaw Valley Middle School Track had 20 students qualify for the Class 1A state track meet in East Peoria May 12-13. The eighth grade girls team, Kyah Calhoun, Kaya Forlines, Erin Harris, Gabby Totten, and Bre Woolum, earned 40 points and the title of Class 1A State Runner-up. Last year, as seventh graders, the girls brought home the Class 2A State Runner-up trophy, making this group of girls back-to-back state trophy winners. Gabby Totten became a state champion once again, this time in the 100 meter dash. Gabby also placed second in the 200 meter dash and third in long jump. These girls also ran in the 4x100 meter relay, where they set a school record running it in 54.68 seconds. Their effort as a team made them 4x100 meter relay champions. Read More

SHS Boys Track Finishes Fifth at Sectional Meet

SHS Boys had a great performance at sectionals Wednesday, May 17 at Tuscola. As a team we finished in 5th out of 19 teams, and 7 guys qualified for the IHSA State meet in 5 events. Brett Bushue qualified in both Pole Vault and High Jump, winning Pole Vault with vault of 12’8” and finishing 4th in High Jump with a state qualifying jump of 6’1”. Read More

SHS Girl Track Sending Seven Athletes to IHSA State Finals

SHS Girls Track will be continuing their season for another week as they are sending 7 athletes in 6 events on to the IHSA State Finals at Eastern Illinois University this week. As a team they finished in 4th place with 59 points in the toughest 1A Sectional in the State. Their Sectional usually produces the most sectional qualifiers, while also producing one of the top 3 teams in the State along with several state champions. Izzy Hay highlighted the meet with a huge Triple Jump win, right after running the 100 Hurdles. Cassidy Short also got a huge win in the Long Jump with a 5.32 meter jump. Read More

SHS Girls Track Team Finishes Fourth

The SHS Girls Track Team had a very successful CIC meet on Thursday, May 4 hosted by Central A & M. They won 5 events and had 6 athletes that received All Conference Accolades for the first time in over 15 years. As a team they finished in 4th place with 115 points, losing to the defending State Champions of Tuscola and a very talented group of ladies from Shelbyville. First place finishes went to Cassidy Short in the Long Jump, Izzy Hay in the Triple Jump, Kharli Kelly in the High Jump, and the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relays of Madalyn Booker, Cassidy Short, Alaina Moore, and Jalexis Bennett. They had a lot of double points come from our younger athletes, as it is a bright future for our Girls Track Team. The team will finish up their season in Bethany on Thursday at the OV Sectional.
