Sullivan Cross Country Teams Compete in Tuscola Classic

The Sullivan cross country teams competed in the 42nd Tuscola Classic at Wimple Park Saturday.
The boys’ team placed 11th and two girl runners placed in the top 21 runners.
For the boys, Chase McClure lead the Redskins with a 14th place finish and a time of 17:37.49.

Sullivan boys’ cross country runner Chase McClure earned a trophy for his 14th place finish at the 42nd Tuscola Classic Saturday.
Other top 100 runners included Noah Bates, who ran a 19:16.06
for 4th place, Coen Foster, who ran a 20:12.30 for 92nd place and Peyton Pool, who ran a 20:22.41 for 97th place.
Other Redskins times included JJ Standerfer’s 20:47.39 (106th), Canon West’s 20:49.65 (108th), Paul Bates’s 20:50.36 (109nth) and Dawson Foster’s 22:47.50 (138th).
The girls did not place as a team, but Tori Turnbaugh had a strong performance, running a 21:07.86 for 18th place.
Katherine Kite placed 21st with a time of 21:15.65, and Izzy Hay placed 93rd at 25:49.96.
The Redskins are scheduled to enter the Spartan Classic at St. Joseph at 9 a.m. Saturday.
