The Sullivan girls’ basketball team picked up two more wins this week, including knocking off the No. 8 ranked Clinton Maroons.
Earlier in this month, Sullivan lost to No. 1 ranked Paris.
Thursday night, the Redskins knocked Clinton out of the top-ten state rankings with a 66-45 win.
After taking an 18-12 lead in the first quarter, Sullivan took advantage of an 18-9 run in the second quarter for a 36-21 halftime lead.
The Redskins extended the lead by six points in the third quarter, then held on in the fourth for the final score.
“This was a great team win against a good state ranked team,” said. Sullivan coach Sheri McCain. “Emily White played the best all-around game I have ever seen her play. She was 7-for-8 from behind the arc this evening. We did a great job defensively and stuck to the game plan. I am so proud of these young ladies and how hard they continue to work knowing there is no post-season this year.”
