Up 20 points or down 20 points, Sullivan girls’ coach Sheri McCain is always trying to teach a basketball lesson.
Sullivan won its 14th straight game by shellacking Cerro Gordo/Bement 63-17 Monday night in Cerro Gordo but had to take it one possession at a time for a comeback win against Mt. Zion Saturday.
Sullivan’s overwhelming pressure defense held the Broncos to two points in the first half while the Redskins’ offense exploded for 26 points.
In the third quarter, Sullivan outscored CGB 20-4 and then cruised to the victory.
Emily White scored a team-high 18 points, and Esther Miller followed with 17 points.
Avery Still added 10 points, four assists and five steals.
