Sullivan Police Chief Warns of Scams
November 26, 2014
Some area residents have recently received phone calls that were later realized to be scams.
According to Sullivan police chief John Love, his department received three complaints Tuesday about alleged scams that area residents had received over the phone.
Of the three phone scams, two dealt with a caller alleging to be a relative that was in trouble and in need of money. The other scam involved a caller alleging to be an IRS investigator. Both scams were requesting money.
Love says area residents should be weary of such calls. For more information, contact the Sullivan police department at 728-4351.
