Sullivan Softball Team Takes Okaw Valley in Extra Innings

The Sullivan softball team lost two games last week but bounced back Saturday to defeat Okaw Valley 6-5 with a walk-off fielder’s choice by Alexis Britton in extra innings.
Against OV, Sullivan fell behind 3-0 in the first inning when Madison Vogel tripled in two of the team’s three first-inning runs.
Sullivan tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the second inning when Katie Honchell, Irie Dulin and Caprice Smith each drove in runs.
OV took the lead again in the third with a run and added to that lead with another run in the fifth inning.
Sullivan scored again in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 5-4, and in the seventh inning Smith recorded another RBI to send the game into extra innings.
