The Education Connection

The Education Connection Committee develops History-to-Go units for use in classrooms throughout the county. Artifacts are an important component of each unit, helping students to learn more about the place they call home - Moultrie County. “Early Settlers of Moultrie County” is the title of the current unit, and the committee would appreciate help from the community in collecting items from that period, 1826-1890, to include in the unit. The topics include Homes & Homelife, Clothing, Tools, Food and Food Preparation, Transportation, Farming, Music, Games, Art, and Crafts. If you have photos or renderings of the time, letters, and other printed information on the topics, we can make copies and return items unharmed. All other items or artifacts can be loaned or donated to the Center for the unit. Please contact Nancy Schaljo (217-620-4092), Vickie Bowers (217-855-5251) or Linda McCabe (217-201-3480) if you have any questions or are interested in contributing to this History-to-Go project.
